My Story
I first saw a Scentsy wickless warmer on a random website. I was blown away by the lights emanating from the beautiful ceramic warmers! I got so excited! I had just recently joined another Direct-sell company, mainly for my personal use of the products-I certainly wasn’t having a “go” of it. Another person might have said, “Well, let’s just keep focused, you’ve already got one iron in the fire”---but I KNEW I LOVED what I saw, and I hardly ever get excited (well, not like that!). I went to an outdoor event in my town and came across a Scentsy booth! I told the gal, “I want to JOIN” and she came out to see me and I signed up, along with my daughter! I didn’t have a clue about much—that was in the fall of 2008. Scentsy was just 4 years old. Fast forward to 2020----Since then, Scentsy has upgraded their consultant workstation multiple times until it’s just the most efficient, user-friendly experience ever. Training is available 24/7, and “LIVE” during weekly training. The company has expanded across the globe, opening new markets in Mexico, Europe, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, most recently the Netherlands.… I’ve grown a team that at one time stretched from Alberta, CA , across the South, and in my own back yard. Team members have come and gone, but the ones who stayed long enough to become very successful, but still left, left to do things they told me they would have never had the confidence to do, if it weren’t for the personal growth they experienced during their career as a Scentsy consultant. Because of Scentsy I have worked my business to earn INCENTIVE TRIPS in all but 4 of my years. At Scentsy an INCENTIVE TRIP means “blow your mind awesomeness” full of great experiences and extra gifts from Scentsy. I’ve flown to Puerto Vallarta & Cancun for Leadership Retreat. I've earned incentive trips to Mexico, the Mediterranean, & South Carolina to name a few. Because of Scentsy I have had experiences I would never have had otherwise!
Scentsy is such a flexible choice! Consultants can work their businesses in a variety of ways. Everyone does what works for them, around their schedule, around their life. Being an Independent Scentsy Consultant has been a life-saver and a life-changer for so many, many consultants, including me. There’s nothing like being in charge of your own destiny. Set the goal-work towards it. Set another goal—work towards it. Repeat, repeat again. I’m always looking for new team members to JOIN my SOUTHERN LIGHTS TEAM. In addition to the training online, I’m responsible for training and mentoring team members. After almost 11 years with Scentsy I’ve learned a lot, but it all comes down to consistency and working towards a goal. People LOVE LOVE LOVE Scentsy! We have to take the opportunity to get it out in front of them, and open up new markets all around us! Finally—MY WHY First I loved it. Then I used it. Then I put it to work. My passion when I became an Independent Scentsy Consultant was SENIOR DOG RESCUE. My special passion was small breed senior dogs. My Scentsy commission check helped me to feed them, get their meds,
Things started to change when my daughter signed me up to become a foster parent/caregiver. She eventually adopted 5 children, and I helped along the way. Then, one day I looked at the two empty rooms in our home and decided, "WHY NOT ME?". My husband & I continued training for foster care, and before you know it--we're the adoptive parents of a sibling group of 5 children, ages 10 , 8, 7, 4, & 3.
